I personally think being a middle manager in recruitment is one of the hardest jobs. The reason why is we have to answer to above - answer all their questions as to why this isn't happening or why that isn't happening. We have to hit our targets, we've also got our teams to look after and motivate them. We've got to be positive and help them gain their targets, we've got to be happy.

Middle managers are expected to be 'on the ball' all the time. We need to look after middle managers. You need to look after yourselves and you need tactics to handle your stress levels because otherwise it's going to cascade down and your mental health will be a detriment to your performance and your productivity.
